Mike Parker - Early Works EP
Three more prized cuts from Mike Parker’s discography get a fresh mastering.
Mike Parker’s one of those innovative characters who made a profound impact on shaping the sound of techno. As Mike continues influencing a new generation of producers the demand for his work to be repressed has reached an all-time high. Aside from being something Mike is pursuing under his long-standing Geophone label, the idea has also attracted the likes of Berlin-based label Ownlife as seen in this release.
The three track EP, Early Works, is assembled of two original cuts, which the label states are “two of the most emblematic, and above all, most wanted tracks”, and one previously unreleased dubplate. First up, is the fiercely energetic and snake charming “Shakuhachi One” which was originally released on Geophone in 1998. On the flip, you will find “Silverbank” which previously outed on Defective Records as part of the Circulation EP. Last but by no means least is the monsterous and somewhat evil sounding dubplate, Dissolution99, which is heavily built around squelching modulations. Try them out below.
