Steve Bicknell's YouTube channel, backtotheparty
The UK techno pioneer has revealed himself as the man behind anonymous edits YouTube channel, backtotheparty.
With plans to turn the channel into a party series later in the year, Bicknell has been uploading edits of classic dance tracks over the past year. As told to Resident Advisor: “The inspiration is reimagining and restructuring material to share in a considered environment that preserves the essential elements.”
The channel currently consists of 24 tracks including reworked versions of Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, Lil Louis, Ten City, Steve Poindexter and Paul Johnson.
“The main concept of backtotheparty, is the party, creating a sound for me to play, and the environment to capture the spirit,” Bicknell says. “The YouTube channel is a platform to share the sound and visuals which reflect a sense of being on the dance floor.”
The party series will be coming to real dancefloors, with talk of the first edition taking place in Milan later this year. Known for his legendary London party, Lost, Bicknell’s events are not to miss.
