Steve Bicknell's YouTube channel, backtotheparty

The UK techno pioneer has revealed himself as the man behind anonymous edits YouTube channel, backtotheparty.

With plans to turn the chan­nel into a par­ty series lat­er in the year, Bick­nell has been upload­ing edits of clas­sic dance tracks over the past year. As told to Res­i­dent Advi­sor: The inspi­ra­tion is reimag­in­ing and restruc­tur­ing mate­r­i­al to share in a con­sid­ered envi­ron­ment that pre­serves the essen­tial elements.”

The chan­nel cur­rent­ly con­sists of 24 tracks includ­ing reworked ver­sions of Far­ley Jack­mas­ter” Funk, Lil Louis, Ten City, Steve Poindex­ter and Paul Johnson.

The main con­cept of back­tothep­ar­ty, is the par­ty, cre­at­ing a sound for me to play, and the envi­ron­ment to cap­ture the spir­it,” Bick­nell says. The YouTube chan­nel is a plat­form to share the sound and visu­als which reflect a sense of being on the dance floor.”

The par­ty series will be com­ing to real dance­floors, with talk of the first edi­tion tak­ing place in Milan lat­er this year. Known for his leg­endary Lon­don par­ty, Lost, Bick­nel­l’s events are not to miss.
