Marco Shuttle contributes to the Sounds of Detroit sample pack
Detroit's Movement festival and audio outlet Splice have compiled a sample pack filled with samples created by artists from the festivals 2018 line up.
Titled Sounds of Detroit the compilation aims to promote an inclusive Detroit music scene with all proceeds going to two local non-profit organisations; The Seraphine Collective and Spin, Inc. The compilation includes a long list of high profile artists from Detroit and Chicago legends to our very own Marco Shuttle.
The ideas behind the compilation all are based on field recordings made by Detroit artists Shigeto and Waajeed at various locations around the city. Each artist was invited to High Bias recording studios to edit and transform those recordings into samples and loops. The pack, which you can find here, is filled with nearly 500 audio files covering everything from drum hits, soundscapes, stabs, FX and loops. Check out the short documentary about the project below.
