Strange Sounds From Beyond is one of the most excit­ing fes­ti­vals Ams­ter­dam has to offer at present. The ethos behind the fes­ti­val is pret­ty self explan­oto­ry, strange alter­na­tive sounds com­ing to you from a place beyond the norm. The 2018 edi­tion played host to a selec­tion of great DJ’s and live artists such as Let­ta Mbu­lu, Doppleref­fekt, Leroy Burgess and elec­tro heavy­weight The Hacker.

This year the fes­ti­val put The Hack­er’s adapt­abil­i­ty to the test team­ing him up with Man­nequin Records boss Alessan­dro Adri­ani. Housed on the Tent stage late into the Sat­ur­day the duo wast­ed lit­tle time in lay­ing down an ener­getic sound­track that no doubt got puls­es rais­ing. Squelch­ing acid, Bel­gian new beat and elec­tro good­ness are all run­ning themes through the hour and a half set.
