Sassy J at Horst Festival 2018

As the fes­ti­val sea­son drew to a close this sum­mer there were still a few stops left to tick off for the Swiss selec­tor Sassy J. One of which being the fifth edi­tion of Horst Fes­ti­val which was housed for the last time in their unique cas­tle loca­tion of Hols­beek, Bel­gium and fea­tured a metic­u­lous pro­gram­ming of music, art and design. 

The Bern native took to the booth on the open­ing night, fol­low­ing on from local artist Ali­A’s warm-up on the 019 stage, and wast­ed no time in ignit­ing the dance floor with dead­ly grooves. Lis­ten­ing through the hour and a half record­ing you will notice Sassy J came packed with a very diverse and eclec­tic record bag. The first hour touch­es on her usu­al offer­ing of dance floor good­ness before drop­ping tem­po and switch­ing lanes in the final chap­ter with dub reg­gae, RnB and African tones. It’s ener­gis­ing, unpre­dictable and very refresh­ing, tune into this one below.
