Max Abysmal remix for Kalahari Oyster Cult
Australian heartthrob Max Abysmal kick-starts the year with a spooky remix for Kalahari Oyster Cult.
Following on from his debut releases in 2018, Max Abysmal returns with a very tidy remix for one of Amsterdam’s most exciting upcoming labels Kalahari Oyster Cult. The Red Light Radio regular reimages a cut from American duo La Batterie’s EP “Let There Be Drums” which was originally released in 1983 and will be reissued alongside Max’s and Benedikt Frey remixes.
Titled “Let There Be Drums” (Max Abysmal’s Spooky Remix), which comes in just shy of 7 minutes in length, adopts and adapts the raw energy of the original ’83 version while offering Max’s left-of-centre, off-kilter magic. Abysmal layers ghostly notes and spectral snares into his mechanical downtempo remake plunging you deep into the depths of an untold horror tale.
