Ron Morelli – ‘Colts Neck’ on Berghain 09

Vat­i­can Shad­ow was the lat­est artist to deliv­er a mix series for the ongo­ing project from the Berlin-based imprint. Berghain 09 is out now as a free down­load and accom­pa­nied by a dou­ble 12″ vinyl fea­tur­ing exclu­sive tracks from indus­tri­al orig­i­na­tor Gen­e­sis Brey­er P‑Orridge, as well as Vir­ile Games, Los Ange­les Death Cult, Volvox, JK Flesh, Alberich, Ugan­dan Meth­ods, Pruri­ent, Merzbow and our very own Ron Morelli.

Fer­now calls the mix ​“a trib­ute to the tech­no mix­tapes that influ­enced me dur­ing my intro­duc­tion to raves and dance music in the ​’90s”. 

Ron’s addi­tion to the release comes in the form on ​‘Colts Neck’. Tun­ing into the cut below you will find the L.I.E.S boss man deliv­ers an unre­lent­ing assault into the dark realms of hyp­not­ic tech­no. Pound­ing 4/4 drum rhythms sit along­side freaked out synth lines lat­er to be met by fierce per­cus­sive ele­ments. Buck­le up and test this one out below.
