Legowelt returns as Gladio
Landing on the dependable L.I.E.S. records is the rebirth of Gladio the slave of Rome.
Legowelt is an artist of many aliases. Some are more prevalent than others, however, they always guarantee that unique touch of quality you expect from the Dutchman. In this case, Legowelt revisits one of his most cult monikers Gladio. The medieval-inspired pseudonym first came into the public domain back in 2003 with the debut EP ‘Slave of Rome’ landing on the mighty Bunker Records. In 2007, he returned with the ‘Hadrian’s Wall EP’ which followed suit from the debut release but landed on the Scottish imprint Mighty Robot Recordings.
Now, more than ten years on from the Hadrian’s Wall EP, Legowelt will tap back into the mystical realms with the rebirth of Gladio. The forthcoming outing will unfold onto L.I.E.S. records this coming May. Across the seven-track LP, titled ‘Means To Freedom’, we see shades of the old Legowelt sound. As such in the raw and stripped back cuts Of Hyperborea, Olympus Panspermia, Temple of Pervesius and Fist of Gladio. The other three tracks that make up the LP, Wild Horses, De Astra Planeti and Gladio is Free, are the real dancefloor-ready offerings. High in tempo, unrelenting by nature and fused together with bold rhythms and intricate synth workouts. Get an earful of this one below.
