Interstellar Funk & Parrish Smith EP on L.I.E.S.
Two prominent local artists collaborate on this EP for Long Island Electrical Systems.
It’s been a busy year for Interstellar Funk so far juggling his tours, remix duties and building on his label Artificial Dance. Now, as we reach the midpoint of the year, the calculated selector lines up his first release of 2019 alongside Parrish Smith — another Dutch youngster who likes to adventure around the darker realms of electronics. Sharing very similar ideas and ethos on music it is somewhat of a surprise we haven’t seen these two working alongside one another before.
As they say, all good things take time and here we are with both these fast-rising artists on a four-track EP set to be released on L.I.E.S. later this month. At present, the only preview of the release, found below, is of the opening track “Misinformation”. Here the duo merges soaring sequences with squelching stab hits that they lace it together with sharp and crispy downtempo drum patterns. This one certainly sets the tone of what to expect throughout the remainder of the EP.
