Max Abysmal at Selectors

Cer­tain­ly no stranger to Dek­man­tel events, Max Abysmal always makes a last­ing impres­sion when called upon from the Ams­ter­dam based out­fit. From his Dek­man­tel X Boil­er Room appear­ance back in 2017 to his b2b with Gilb’R last year there are a num­ber of stand­out per­for­mances by Max on the Dek­man­tel stage. This year he kept the momen­tum rolling with anoth­er com­pelling out­ing at the 2019 edi­tion of Selectors. 

Over the course of two hours, Max works through a diverse selec­tion of music offer­ing dif­fer­ent emo­tive respons­es along the way. In the open­ing sequences, wild rhythms find snake charm­ing melodies that are bound togeth­er with hefty chug­ging basslines. As the set pro­gress­es rit­u­al­is­tic chant­i­ng sits along­side odd­ball elec­tron­ics and acid lines work there way out of eight­ies rar­i­ties. Reflect­ing on this set it comes as no sur­prise Max has just been announced for the 2020 edi­tion of Selec­tors. The antic­i­pa­tion is already building…
