Orpheu The Wizard Music From Memory Mix + Interview

Han­dling the ninth instal­ment of the Music From Mem­o­ry mix series is an artist who is no stranger to the out­fit in Orpheu The Wiz­ard. Orpheu has strong ties to the label hav­ing pro­duced a num­ber of art­works for them under their Sec­ond Cir­cle exten­sion. Con­sid­er­ing his strong rep­u­ta­tion for unearthing hid­den gems, just like the label, it’s no sur­prise they would invite this like­mind­ed selec­tor to join their mix series.

Over the course of an hour, Orpheu treats us to an array of hor­i­zon­tal­ly inclined cuts. Shy­ing away from his usu­al help­ing of time­less dance­floor mate­r­i­al, the Red Light Radio co-founder takes the oppor­tu­ni­ty to show­case his oth­er inter­ests with­in the grand spec­trum of music. Through­out the mix, he toys between moody ambi­ence and instru­men­tal tracks rich with wind and string ele­ments that sit side by side with mean­ing­ful cor­re­la­tion.
