Jordan GCZ - Space Songs EP

Jor­dan GCZ returns with a five-track out­ing on Future Times. The EP fol­lows on from pre­vi­ous appear­ances on the label in 2019 on their FIGS com­pi­la­tion (with a col­lab­o­ra­tive track along­side Dream­cast) and Jordan’s pre­vi­ous 12” (FT023) that the label described as a ​‘work of tech­no art that opened up doors in its wide­view of techno’.

“Open­er ​“Funky Sock”s trip thru noise and sta­t­ic heads straight to a 313 funk bub­ble, live drum machine play on point. ​“Half Time” bur­rows and bur­rows but gives way to bells and bliss. ​“Cat­bird Seat” is DJ heat, as Jor­dan com­bines a very Chica­go stomp with synth lines repeat­ed into hal­lu­ci­na­tion. ​“Prodi­gi” recalls clas­sics of tech­no past with straight up anthemic bass and pure synth rub­ber that he whips around the track, and ​“Bah Bah” is the jazz­i­est thing there is, , hit­ting a one-light­bulb house burn into lus­cious vocals and finale.”
