Steve Bicknell on Tsunami Records compilation

Steve Bick­nell has been at the fore­front of the UK’s ever-grow­ing elec­tron­ic music scene since its infan­cy. His career, span­ning over 25+ years, has seen Steve grow from his ear­ly begin­nings as a young pro­mot­er and res­i­dent DJ to one of the UK’s most estab­lished, accom­plished and respect­ed tech­no artists cred­it­ed by many as a true pio­neer. In his lat­est out­ing, Bick­nell lands on a mighty com­pi­la­tion by Tsuna­mi Records along­side Sur­geon, Sab­o­tak, Stanislav Tolka­chev, The Rare Breed, James Ruskin and Ini­go Kennedy. 

Bick­nel­l’s addi­tion to the sev­en-track release, Deep­er Shades of Grey, is a no-non­sense four to the floor tech­no work­out. Forg­ing metal­lic tex­tures with bub­bling syn­the­sis and eerie sound­scapes he cre­ates a deep com­po­si­tion des­tined for the dance­floor. The mag­ic in this one comes from his sub­tle pro­gres­sions that ebb and flow with pow­er­ful results.
