RA Mix: Sedef Adasi

A full cir­cle moment, as Sedef recalls once dream­ing of reach­ing the mile­stone of the RA Mix. The moment is well and tru­ly here, with just over an hour of her catchy blend of elec­tro and tech­no, expert­ly mixed to make you wan­na move.

From DJing in shoe stores in her Bavar­i­an home town to a Berghain res­i­den­cy — Sedef Adasi’s ascen­sion knows no bounds. The Turk­ish-Ger­man pro­duc­er’s sto­ry begins in her home town of Augs­burg. She felta lack of open-mind­ed, queer spaces which led her to start her own, HAMAM Nights. Despite hav­ing lit­tle expe­ri­ence in the pro­mot­er seat, the par­ty series was a suc­cess and set off her fruit­ful tra­jec­to­ry that cul­mi­nat­ed in a pres­ti­gious res­i­den­cy at Berghain’s Panora­ma Bar. Hav­ing always val­ued local scenes in favour of flee­ing to the big city, start­ing small allowed her the space to hone a tru­ly per­son­al sound. Her result­ing organ­ic authen­tic­i­ty and orig­i­nal­i­ty is per­haps the very rea­son for her glob­al success.
