Leon Vynehall

Leon Vynehall is an Ivor Novello nominated artist, producer, and composer part of a vanguard expanding the ambition of electronic music.

Coming up in the early 2010s as a DJ and leftfield house producer, he released several singles and EPs on labels like Rush Hour, Running Back, and most notably 2014’s Music For The Uninvited EP on 3024. When he signed to Ninja Tune in 2018, he made the ambitious move to release his debut album, Nothing Is Still: a biographical concept album, with an accompanying novella and series of short films, about his grandparents’ emigration from England to the US in the 1960s. Taking a side-step from the house music he was known for, Vynehall moved into an orchestral sound inspired by jazz and ambient structures. It was followed in 2021 by Rare, Forever: a bold transition away from dance music, Vynehall twisted post-punk and experimental electronics into one another and watched the sparks fly.

He has since released pop-inflected club cuts Undo (Your Body)SHELLAC and Duofade, along with his newest LP In Daytona Yellow; featuring collaborations with TYSON, Beau Nox, Jeshi, and more.

Alongside accolades for his achievements as a producer, Vynehall is just as celebrated as a DJ, touring the world, playing club booths and festival stages alike. From a shortlisted ‘Best of the Year’ Radio 1 Essential Mix to his now cult-like entry to the ‘DJ-Kicks’ series, and a lauded Fabric Presents, as well as podcasts for the likes of Resident Advisor and DJ Mag, as well as holding a coveted month long residency at London’s Phonox in 2024.
