Giuseppe Tillieci, also known as Neel, is an Italian producer and DJ whose lifelong dedication to the audible realm began in his earliest years. Today, Neel is at the forefront of electronic music, driven by an unwavering devotion to understanding and manipulating sound, organically and scientifically. Sound is not just a composition of notes; it’s a sacred realm of dimensions for Neel. Every subtle nuance is perceived and honoured.
His musical expression traverses from evocative ambient to layered, highly impactful techno, always with finesse. The live, hybrid or DJ sets aim to be part of the complete story of a lineup and focus on cohesion much more than a single climax.
As a DJ, Neel knits tracks together so that time appears to dissolve, with no restraint and wholly devoted – a passion felt on the dancefloor with every body cell, no matter the hour. The current sound delivers a powerful tribal-infused blend of trippy and hypnotic layers, promising a good ride on the dancefloor.
His techno live sets, always distinct and often spontaneously evolving, consistently feature four core elements: groove, tribalism, psychedelia and a good infusion of acid.
Neel’s productions are characterized by intricate coilings, rhythmic propulsions and layered textures reflecting a deep communion with his machines. From their imagination, ideas are manifested through improvisation and recorded right away. The manipulation of machinery often goes beyond their conventional use.
A life devoted to sound also means touching the whole ecosystem of sound: Beyond being an artist, he is a sound designer, a mastering engineer, and co-owner of the prominent label Spazio Disponibile.
Outside of his endeavours collaborating and improvising with others plays a significant role for the Italian artist. That’s why Neel is part of the influential collaborations LF 58 and Voices From The Lake. He also regularly joins live improvisation projects like “Circle of Live” and STOOR.
