Indeed, Jeanne’s com­mit­ment to the craft itself has become her call­ing card. Allow­ing the process of exper­i­men­ta­tion to bleed into her club per­for­mances in terms of rhythm and tone – but main­tain­ing a razor-sharp eye on qual­i­ty con­trol, Emi­ly Jeanne weaves unique but cohe­sive sets as a DJ and deliv­ers exhil­a­rat­ing exploits as a producer.

Her musi­cal out­put includ­ing 2020’s album Pub­lic by Default – and more recent­ly, a pair of EPs released via Ped­er Mannerfelt’s much laud­ed epony­mous imprint, are tes­ta­ment to this fact. In turn, each release also pro­vides a mark­er in an ongo­ing process of per­son­al and son­ic devel­op­ment – chart­ing a tra­jec­to­ry that can be seen stretch­ing out into the future. Beyond her pro­duc­tions, a res­i­den­cy at Ghent’s Funke Club has allowed the artist a degree of world-build­ing and an oppor­tu­ni­ty to stretch cura­to­r­i­al mus­cles. A reg­u­lar show on Brus­sels’ Kiosk radio has pro­vid­ed the per­fect envi­ron­ment to show­case the full breadth of her musi­cal appre­ci­a­tion. As the new year unfolds, stu­dio time meets an inter­na­tion­al tour­ing sched­ule for an artist plot­ting a sin­gu­lar and per­son­al path.
