NVST: Hoe_mies 4 Palestine

Hoe_mies 4 Palestine serves as a joint artistic statement from the femme & queer Hoe_mies artist network against the ongoing suffering in Gaza. Among the tracks, NVSTs Busy Time Square has been included in the compilation.

The edits and original tracks touch on a range of genres, where House, Techno, Bass music and Breaks meet Hip Hop, Pop, Brazilian Funk and RnB references.

In their own words:

We demand an immediate permanent ceasefire to stop the killing of civilians, unconditional passage of humanitarian aid and goods, an end to illegal settler violence, and the compliance of all parties with international humanitarian law.

We wish for the Palestinian people to finally live their lives in safety, self determination and joy. We strongly stand against all anti-Muslim racism and antisemitism. As artists who are able to create freely, we take our duty to speak up and mobilize for an end to Apartheid and genocide seriously. No one can be free until all of us are free.

We hope for anyone buying, listening, and playing these tracks in their sets to think of the lives lost. Send your love and prayers to the Palestinian people who aren’t only subjected to indiscriminate bombings and unprosecuted killings but also face starvation and disease. Raise your voice and continue to be loud until justice is served.”

All profits generated from this release will go to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontieres relief efforts.

Hoe_mies started out as a club night, turned political statement against the monotony of a male dominated DJ and promoter scene. Their mission is to embolden our community by prioritizing safety and showcasing female and queer talent.
