Heleen Blanken's Museumnacht

This weekend, visual artist Heleen Blanken has two pieces on show during Museumnacht ("night of the museum") in Amsterdam. The first piece, called Terrene, was unveiled at ADE and is a collaboration with producer Peter Van Hoesen and proved hugely popular. It is on display at the Rembrandt House Museum and Saturday will be the first and last time museum visitors can see the installation at night, which makes the work even more intriguing.

Heleen has always been fascinated with earthly matters and so jumped at the opportunity to use the enormous white hall that is the basement of the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam, where for one night only she has set up her newest piece, the Ousia installation. It is about human interactions with the Earth and is part of the museum’s program for the night that also includes Beesmunt Soundsystems take on the same matter. Head here for more info.
