Function's live stream for ARTE

To cel­e­brate 30 Years of Tre­sor, Func­tion AKA David Sum­n­er per­formed a live set.

Arte Con­cert has released a series of exclu­sive live shows from icon­ic artists, record­ed in dif­fer­ent spaces of the Kraftwerk build­ing. The sets are still avail­able to watch back on the ARTE web­site.

Func­tions tech­no career began in New York in the 90s, where he became a res­i­dent at Man­hat­tan’s noto­ri­ous Lime­light club. Pro­duc­ing from the mid-90s onward, he released his first 12“s on Damon Wild’s Synewave and his own Infra­struc­ture imprint. In 2007 his jour­ney brought him to Berlin, where he became a Berghain reg­u­lar, co-found­ed the influ­en­tial Sandwell Dis­trict col­lec­tive and became a record­ing artist on Ostgut Ton.

As such a key pres­ence of the Berlin scene, it is only fit­ting that he joins in cel­e­brat­ing 30 years of Tresor.
